Chaired the panel Discussion on “Is Green Hydrogen Really Green” at 2nd Vivekananda Sustainability Summit, Wednesday 12th April 2023 at Ambedkar International Center, New Delhi
Mr. Mishra, chaired the panel Discussion on “Is Green Hydrogen Really Green” at Vivekananda Sustainability Summit, Wednesday 12th April 2023 at Ambedkar International Center, New Delhi and said, Currently, India spends over $160 billion of foreign exchange every year for energy imports. These imports are likely to double in the next 15 years without remedial action. With this approval, the stage is set for India to become a global champion in green hydrogen.
On January 4, 2022, the National Green Hydrogen Mission was approved by the Union Cabinet, chaired by the Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi.
The initial outlay for the Mission will be Rs. 19,744 crore, including an outlay of Rs. 17,490 crore for the Strategic Interventions for Green Hydrogen Transition (SIGHT) programme, Rs. 1,466 crore for Pilot Projects, Rs.400 crore for Research & Development, and Rs. 388 crore towards other Mission components. Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE) will formulate the scheme guidelines for implementation of the respective components.
MISSION OUTCOMES
The Mission will result in the following likely outcomes by 2030:
- Development of green hydrogen production capacity of at least 5 MMT (Million Metric Tonne) per annum with an associated renewable energy capacity addition of about 125 GW in the country
- Over Rs. Eight lakh crores in total investments
- Creation of over Six lakh jobs
- Cumulative reduction in fossil fuel imports over Rs. One lakh crore
- Abatement of nearly 50 MMT of annual greenhouse gas emissions
INDIA’S PROGRESS TOWARDS GREEN HYDROGEN
- Prime Minister Narendra Modi aims to transform India into an energy independent nation by 2047 where green hydrogen will play an active role as an alternate fuel to petroleum/ fossil-based products.
- In 2020, India’s hydrogen demand stood at 6 million tonnes (MT) per year. It is estimated that by 2030, the hydrogen costs will be down by 50 per cent.
- The demand for hydrogen is expected to see a five-fold jump to 28 MT by 2050 where 80 per cent of the demand is expected to be green in nature.

On the invitation of World International Freight Forwarder Alliance for the 8th World International Freight Forwarders Annual Convention 2019 (WIFFAC) at Xian, China on November 18-19, 2019. This conference is jointly organized by ShippingChina, CFLP and WIFFA.
Mr. Mishra has delivered the keynote speech and highlighted the opportunities for investment in India and invited Chinese enterprise to take the benefit. He has highlighted the major reform in logistic sector, ease of doing business and continued progress in reforms. He said India has countless opportunities and immense possibilities. To take advantage of growing economy and 2nd largest market of the world, we should complement each other and at the same time learn the best business practices and adopt the new technology.
This conference was attended by 500+ CEO and Representative of Logistic enterprise, Technology Providers, Ports Managements, Government officials, Associations, Financial Enterprises and software companies etc.
India China Trade Center (ICTC) along with Guangdong Fashion Jewellery and Accessories Association and KACO Smart organised the “India–China Gems & Jewellery B2B Matchmaking” on 11th November 2019 at Le Meridien Hotel, New Delhi. The B2B matchmaking has been attend by 100+ Indian and Chinese enterprise to enhance the communication, increase mutual understanding and deepen business cooperation among the enterprises of both the countries in the field of Gems, Diamond Jewellery, Gold Jewellery, Silver Jewellery and imitation Jewellery.
In his welcome address Mr. V. K. Mishra, Executive Vice-Chairman of the India China Trade Center (ICTC) welcomed the participants and emphasized on the need for two countries to cooperate with each other in Gems & Jewellery Segment, as there are huge scope of Cooperation. He further said that India is one the largest exporters of Gems & Jewellery. The Industry plays a vital role in the Indian economy for its role as a major contributor to the total foreign exchange reserves of the countries. Indian Government has permitted 100% FDI in the sector under the automatic route and it give great opportunities to Chinese large enterprise to enter into Indian market. The Indian fashion jewellery market is also growing rapidly and anticipated to grow at a CAGR of around 23.5% during 2017-2022.
India–China Youth Entrepreneurs Forum 2019 on 27th March 2019 at Le Meridien Hotel, New Delhi
India China Trade Center (ICTC) along with Fortune Generation and Pangoal Institute, Beijing organised the “India–China Youth Entrepreneurs Forum 2019” on 27th March 2019 at Le Meridien Hotel, New Delhi. The 1st Youth Entrepreneurs Forum between India and China aims to enhance the communication, increase mutual understanding and deepen business cooperation among the youth entrepreneurs of India and China. Delegation comprising of 80+ members from various sector from India and China attended the forum.

India China Trade Center (ICTC) and India China Technology Transfer Center (ICTTC) in cooperation with China’s Yunnan Academy of Scientific and Technical Information (YASTI) organised the “3rd India–China Technology Transfer, Collaborative Innovation and Investment Conference” & 1st ICTC TECH Expo on 18-19 December 2018 at Hotel Grand, New Delhi. This was the 3rd Conference in Technology transfer and investment series. Starting from 2016 every conference has witnessed a big success not only for the organisers but also for the all stakeholders in the technology transfer and cooperation ecosystem.

During my last visit to China, i have visited to the Indian Embassy at Beijing and have detailed discussion with H. E. Ambassador of India to China Mr. Gautam Bambawale. I have updated him about the past activities of ICTC & ICTTC for the development of bilateral trade, Investment, Science & Technology Cooperation etc., First Secretary, Economic and Commercial Department Mr. Rajesh Parihar was also present in the meeting.
5th China –South Asia Expo 2018, 3rd Forum on China–South Asia Technology Transfer and participated in 3rd China-India Technology Transfer Workshop.
It is my pleasure to announce the successful completion of delegation of more than 20 business leaders and professionals to Kunming, Yunnan Province, Peoples Republic of China from 13th to 17th June 2018. This delegation visit to Kunming was the third official delegation of ICTC and ICTTC to be received by the Yunnan Academy of Scientific and Technological Information (YASTI) and Department of Science and Technology of Peoples Government of the Yunnan Province.
The delegation members attended 5th China –South Asia Expo 2018, 3rd Forum on China–South Asia Technology Transfer and participated in 3rd China-India Technology Transfer Workshop. The Forum, with the theme of “Innovation Drives Development, Collaboration wins the Future”, brought together deputies from S&T authorities, industries, academia and technology transfer agencies across the region. This facilitated an open and action-oriented dialogue between top business leaders and researchers from both countries. This delegation was designed to change the history of cooperation between Indian and Chinese companies by changing their relationship from traders to collaborative partners.
